Welcome to His Hands Ministries
Last year the day started out with Winter Texan volunteers from all over the Rio Grande Valley arriving to help with the monthly food distribution. The food donations were sparse… Tough times for all. The center photo shows mid way through, how many are in need. Willing to wait… THe bottom photo shows many park participants coming to donate, enjoy a meal together ans wonderful Gospel Concert by Rusty Rierson, as well as ‘Festus’ comedian Mark Staggs. A joyous celebration was had by all !!!

NEWS UPDATE
What We Accomplished in 2021
With your help: –
1) We were able to continue with food supplements for 160 to 185 families. Our
monthly food cost for distribution averages $900 a month. (This doesn’t cover
operating costs) We remain on call for emergencies through the Rio Grande
Valley Food Bank. H.E.B. sends out a truck through the RGV with bakery items
twice a week, which supplement 60-75 families. This year our pantry dispensed
801,772lbs of food! This included pallets of fresh eggs, milk, cheese, various meat
products, (such as fish, chicken, hams, ground beef, sausage & hamburger patties)
and tons fresh produce!!
2) We served 15-25 hot meals daily on site for local volunteers & “Winter Texans”.
3) Volunteers did more painting and maintenance on our main buildings. We had tree
removals, landscaping and roof repairs due to the hurricane of July ’20. There was
major water damage and we had to replace some sheet rock and do ceiling repairs in
our Admin building and Guest House. These buildings will need new shingles this
year. There were minor plumbing repairs to homes in the area after the severe
freeze up and the undertaking of more landscaping.
4) We were still unable to hold our annual Daily Vacation Bible School in March.
However, thanks to H.E.B and other donations, we were able to hand out note books,
pencils and other school supplies for the children schooling at home and those
returning to school for the fall semester.
5) Several R.V. Parks in the Mission area are regular donors of household furnishings.
We continued to pick up 3-4 times a week, as many do not have trucks or the
manpower to lift or deliver. These items are sold for a nominal fee at our annual
“Garage Sale” to help recover transportation and operating costs. This year was
an amazing $10,00.00!! Thank you Winter Texans!!!
6) 200+ reusable “Family” bags were given out at Easter with towels, shampoo,
conditioner, bars of soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, etc.
7) We continued to hold regular services on Sunday morning in our Chapel, Bible Study
on Tuesday and perform special services such as weddings, baptisms and dedications.
8) We hosted a “Drive Thru” Thanksgiving Dinner for 150 people!! Every car received
HEB Pumpkin or Apple Pie passed thru the passenger window.
